Topic: Asghar Khan case---SC judgement-----implications Summary: The federal minister for political affairs Moula Bux Chandeo says it is a land mark decision from the Supreme Court and the government has every intention to implement on the verdict. Air Marshall’s attorney Salman Akram Raja was also of the opinion that if implemented this verdict it will stop the interference by the outside forces in the electoral process for ever and next elections will be fair and transparent. Akram Sheikh who is the lawyer for the former army chief Gen. Aslam Baig said his client was only following the orders of then president and he himself had no intentions of interfering in the electoral process. S.M.Zafar said the Supreme Court’s decision is not clear and it is not said in the judgment what are the specific charges against any accused under which he should be prosecuted. Zafar Ali Shah said that in the judgment the name of his party leader is not mentioned and that PPP will take the advantage of this verdict that came very near to the elections after 16 year of wait.
