Qazi Masood, former chief economist, public accounts committee Summary: Salim Mandi wala and Senator Saeed Ghani defended the government’s decision to give finance amnesty to the rich people of Pakistan who can make their black money white by giving one or two percent tax on their hidden wealth and said that this is the only way to bring millions of people who are not paying their taxes into the tax net. Others did not agree with this and said this amnesty according to them is an incentive for not paying the taxes. They called it a tax NRO and suggested that government should take strict measures to force the people to pay the taxes.
