Today’s program was a smooth broadcast with 11 Participants & solid information about different aspects of Election 2012. We started with Dr. Muqtader Khan of Delaware University who gave a brief explanation about this unique election process. He talked about the system & explained the nature of Electoral College. We had Ayesha Tanzim in Chicago, Mohammed Atif in Boston & Iftikhar Hussain in Chicago with us telling our listeners about the activities of both candidates Campaign Headquarters. We then have one Democrat & one Republican who talked about their parties’ point of view. They explained the differences about pro-life & pro-choice, Gay rights & personal freedom. They talked about economic issues as well as foreign policy. In the last part we talked to analysts from Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, and Europe & Mideast. Pak analyst says that US Pak relationship is very important but there are certain issued both countries need to revisit. Afghan analyst says Afghan people want the continuity in the present policies towards Afghanistan. Our analyst from India gave examples of US India Nuclear deal & Indian PM as first state guest. He says the general public opinion is mostly favorable for Obama so far. The analyst from Europe says that economic policies are very different but as far as Foreign policy is concerned people have a leaning towards present setup but according to her there is not a lot of enthusiasm in Europe at the moment. And our analyst from Mideast was in the opinion that people in the region has a feeling of disappointment in Obama administration as they had high expectations during his first term. He says people think that whoever are there US would safeguard its interests.
