Bajwa Welfare Trust has recently arranged marriages for 27 couples in one big event in Sialkot, Pakistan.
Sarfraz Bajwa of trust talks to VOA Urdu about the motivation and goals of this big event. He emphasizes the need of promoting a positive image of United States that has given him this opportunity to get this giant activity in a perfect manner.
Sarfraz Bajwa tells VOA that this was the first time when 12 Christian and 15 Muslim couples tie the knot in one common event. He explains that his effort was to bring religious harmony. He describes the event as an accomplishment where a Muslim Cleric and a Christian Minister were present to formalize the wedding ceremonies for the couples.
Sarfraz Bajwa is trying to organize help centers for military widows to help raise their children and get them settled too.
